This is a quick and delicious recipe to make an apple crisp in a microwave oven. Many an apple has been consumed with this easy to make recipe. This recipe is from a microwave cook book called Basic Microwaving, published in 1978 at the dawn of the microwave oven.
Apple Crisp
A quick and delicious recipe for apple crisp that is made in the microwave oven. Can be served warm or cold, plain or topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

Ingredients
- 6 cups peeled cored and sliced cooking apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Place apples in 8-in microwave safe baking dish.
- Sprinkle with lemon juice.
- Melt butter in small mixing bowl at High power 1 to 1 1/2 minutes
- Stir in remaining ingredients until crumbly.
- Sprinkle over apples evenly and press down lightly.
- Microwave on high 8 minutes.
- Rotate dish 1/2 turn and microwave 6 to 8 minutes until apples are tender.
